Help & Guides / Office / Easy Pickins: Claim a Rough Edge
Easy Pickins is a short list of known rough edges you can claim and help fix. "Roger up" to put your name on one, then "File your fix" to open a ticket linked to it — that ticket is what earns you Flight Path points. You can claim one pickin an hour.
Easy Pickins is a curated list of small, known rough edges in SkySuite — the kind of thing that’s quick to reproduce and worth a report. You’ll find it at Office › Community › Squawk Box · /office/community/squawk-box: on the “What’s New” tab, it’s the “Easy Pickins” column on the right (below the feed on a phone). Each card names a rough edge, an area tag, and a rough sense of the effort.
An Easy Pickins is an invitation to help, not a task you’re assigned. You claim one, then file your fix — a ticket linked to that pickin — and it’s that ticket that lands you points.
Claiming is first come, first served: whoever rogers up first gets it, and a card someone else has claimed is read-only, showing Claimed by {name}. Changed your mind? Click “Release” on a card you claimed to hand it back to the pool for someone else (an admin can release it too).
You can claim one Easy Pickins an hour. There’s a rolling 60-minute cooldown between claims, so no single pilot can lock up the whole list. Releasing a pickin frees it for others but does not reset your own cooldown — you still wait out the hour before your next claim.
You don’t submit any code — you’re reporting a confirmed, reproducible problem. When the ticket you filed is accepted, it earns you 20 Flight Path points, the same as any accepted ticket. Once a linked ticket ships, the Easy Pickins is marked resolved and drops off the list.
Is there a limit on how many I can claim? Yes — one per hour. Claims are on a rolling 60-minute cooldown, so you take one pickin, work it, and can claim your next after the hour is up. Releasing a pickin early doesn’t reset that clock.
Do I get points just for claiming? No. Claiming reserves the rough edge for you; the 20 points come from the ticket you open with “File your fix →” being accepted, not from the claim itself.
Someone already claimed the one I wanted. That card is read-only — Claimed by {name} — until they release it. Pick another in the meantime, or check back later if it frees up.
