Tutorials: Watch and Record

Tutorials is the community video library — watch how other pilots do things, and record your own screen walkthroughs to teach the room. Accepted tutorials publish to the library and earn you Flight Path points based on length.

Tutorials is where the community teaches itself. It’s a library of short screen-and-voice walkthroughs, and it’s also where you record your own. Find it at Office › Community › Tutorials · /office/community/tutorials.

The page has two tabs: “Learn” and “Make a tutorial”.

Learn

The “Learn” tab holds every accepted, published tutorial video and every written guide, filed under the same areas as the left menu (Work, Community, CRM, Equipment, Money, Marketing, Field). “Start here” at the top is the path for your first job, one guide per stop. Search, or narrow the list by area or by format (“Videos” or “Written guides”). Step-by-step guides show one numbered step per click with a screenshot; click “Mark as done” at the end of one to tick it off on “Start here” (the tick is saved in this browser).

On each video you can click “Helpful”, open “Comments” to leave one (“Post”), and open it full-size with “Watch on YouTube” (when it has a YouTube link). Browsing and watching are open to everyone — and watching itself doesn’t earn points.

Make a tutorial

  1. In the left menu, click Office › Community › Tutorials.
  2. Click the “Make a tutorial” tab.
  3. Pick where it belongs in the three topic menus (tab, section, sub-topic). “Title (optional)” and “What it shows (optional)” help reviewers.
  4. Click “Screen Recorder” and then “Start recording” to record your screen and voice right in the browser — or click “Upload a video file” to use one you already have.
  5. Under “Before you submit”, tick “I understand and agree.” and submit it for review.

Your tutorial isn’t live the moment you upload it: it goes to review, and once an admin accepts it, it publishes to the library and your points are awarded.

How points work

Accepted tutorials earn Flight Path points by trimmed length:

A tutorial has to be between 1:00 and 20:00 after trimming. Split anything longer into separate tutorials — the recorder and the uploader won’t submit a video over 20:00 or under 1:00.

To be accepted, a tutorial must be correct, have clear audio and screen, show no private client data, and not repeat an existing tutorial unless it’s clearly better.

Points are paid once, when an admin accepts the tutorial — a reviewer can recommend it, but acceptance is the step that publishes it and pays the points. They stay even if the video is retired later. “My submissions” on the “Make a tutorial” tab shows what you were actually paid. Watching, commenting, and marking things helpful don’t award points.

Common questions

Do I need any recording software? No. On the “Make a tutorial” tab, “Screen Recorder” records your screen and voice right in the browser. If you’d rather use your own recording, click “Upload a video file” instead.

When do I get the points? When your tutorial is accepted by an admin and publishes to the library — not at upload, and not when a reviewer recommends it.

My video is longer than 20 minutes. What do I do? Split it into shorter tutorials, each 20:00 or less, and submit each one. A video under 1:00 is too short to submit — record a little more.

Where do published tutorials live? Office › Community › Tutorials, on the “Learn” tab, filed by menu area.
