Help & Guides / Office / Invoicing: Create, Send, and Get Paid
Invoicing lives under Office › Money › Invoices. Build an invoice with line items and tax, send it to your client, and record the payment when it lands — the ledger keeps your books in step the whole way.
Invoices live under Office › Money › Invoices · /office/money/invoices. Because every job in SkySuite hangs off one record, invoicing pulls from the same place you planned and delivered the work.
The invoice number fills in automatically if you leave it blank. A draft doesn’t touch your books until you send it.
To send several at once, tick them in the list and click “Send Selected”. Sending emails the invoice to the client and posts it to your ledger, so your accounts receivable and revenue update the moment it goes out. The invoice’s status moves to sent, and to viewed once the client opens it.
It posts to your books and marks the invoice paid — or partial if it’s only part of the balance. Overdue invoices flag themselves, and the invoice page also has “Write Off” and “Void” when you need them.
Do I need to build the invoice from scratch for a job? No — invoicing pulls from the same job record you already planned and delivered, so the client and the work are right there.
Why is there just one invoice for a booking and its finished job? SkySuite keeps it to one invoice per job. If a booking created a draft invoice and the job later completes, the finished work is folded into that same invoice automatically — your own added lines are kept — rather than spawning a second one.
Does sending an invoice change my books? Yes. “Send” is the moment it posts to the ledger (receivable + revenue). Recording the payment posts the cash side and closes it out.
